Battery Operated/KIT re:CORD web project is well on its journey. A mysterious red rectangular box, complete with combination lock, has been couriered to eight of the ten artists in the project. Reports are that it is now in New Zealand collecting yet another conspiracy. The box accumulates each artists conspiracy contribution on data files, digital video and audio formats. Finally this will be remixed by the Battery Operated/KIT consortium and also with the intention to show the complete evidence of this. There have been some interesting stories relating to Customs difficulties encountered and explanations to accompany this simple red box containing extraordinary content. The box has still to make it's journey to Korea and China... this project, commissioned by MAAP and funded by the Australia Council, was launched at MAAP'01.

MAAP '01 Excess There is a good deal of video footage to be streamed, vox pops and installation shots to spy in on. The festival was a wild weekend of excess in many forms. There is so much to go up on the site and we are all so exhausted! So hang in there while the written reviews, photo's, audio and video are prepared for upload.

Macromedia Competition Thank you to all that registered their entry ... and the winners are .... Freya Pinney (Brisbane) has won Dreamweaver 4 and .... Marta Kawka (Gold Coast) has won Flash 5. Congratulations and thanks for the software Macromedia!

The festival saw over 5,000 people pass through the exhibition and we are pleased with feedback flowing in - positive, passionate and also some constructive points to develop.
