MAAP Online Projects
re:CORD (Company of Recorded
Delivery) 2001
A collaborative audio/visual/web/cdrom project by Battery Operated/KIT
collective. This project will culminate in a double CD package
with booklet and a presence/show at MAAP 2001/2002. A "black
box" travels to 10 artists working in sound/video between
the UK and Australia (including Canada, USA, Thailand, Japan,
New Zealand, Korea, China) collecting responsive conspiracy theories.
This project, commissioned by MAAP and funded by the Australia
Council, launched at MAAP'01.

2000
MAAP 1999-2000 online residency for Artists from Asia Pacific/Australia.
Artists Feng Mengbo, Beijing; Young-Hae Chang,Seoul; Rick Vermey,
Perth; Tina Gonsalves, Melbourne. Artists were invited to Brisbane
to be armed with web training and online space.
Missile Web Launch 1999-01
Since 1999 MAAP has included a daily "launch" of an
art project in the lead up to the festvial highlighting a selection
of artist and related online projects curated by Kim Machan. Some
links in the earlier launches have unfortunately "died".

Art Asia
Pacific 2000
In partnership with MAAP the special New Media edition of Aret
Asia Pacific was reproduced online. The interface was designed
by QUT Communication Design students. The site includes numerous
articles surveying new media practice in China, Korea, Japan,
Australia and other burning issues.
PreFab
1999
(link currently suspended) PreFab explores the pleasures and potentialities
of the 'digital suburbs' burgeoning in the photon-stream. PreFab
invites you to explore the heterogeneous VRML homes of artists,
architects and multimedia designers. PreFab will continue to grow.
VRML artists and architects are invited to join this online exhibition.

Shoreline
1999
An online virtual art exhibition exploring the shifting boundaries
between medium and message, technology and community. Eight online
artworks commissioned especially by MAAP. Historically, this project
is regarded as a milestone in curatorial development of web art
being an early example of commissioned work for a specific curatorial
