Rachel O’Reilly is a writer, researcher, curator and consultant. She works mostly with film, video and new media practices, projects, and organisations. In 2008 Rachel was commissioned by MAAP to curate Video Ground, which toured to the Bangkok Experimental Film Festival and the Chicago Film Studies Centre. From 2004 – 2008 she worked at the Australian Cinematheque at the Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Australia, where she co-curated The Leisure Class. She was a co-organiser of the independent art and media festival, This is Not Art festival in 2002, and a curatorial advisor to the Place, Ground and Practice working group of the International Society for Electronic Arts festival 2006. She is currently completing an MA in Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam as a Brisbane Lord Mayors Fellowship recipient. Her writing has been published by Cambridge Scholars Press, MIT Press, Postcolonial Studies, and RealTime Arts, and in museum publications and independent exhibition catalogues.
